The Personalized Learning Academy is open to all Bibb County School District students. It consists of SOAR Academy and VIP Academy. Each academy is comprised of one or more programs and requires an application and/or district recommendation for admission. Please visit each program page for more details.
SOAR Academy, formerly known as the alternative education program, consists of three programs that offer students flexibility in how, when, and where they learn and provide students with a multi-tiered system of supports and interventions to help them get back on attendance, academic, behavioral, and graduation tracks and succeed in their enrollment, enlistment, or employment goals. · SOAR YouthBuild – Ages 16-24
VIP Academy, or the Virtual Instruction Program (VIP), offers students a full, online learning experience with an onsite, multi-tiered system of supports and interventions to help students succeed in their courses and their enrollment, enlistment, or employment goals. General Steps to Admission
• Step 1: View the online information session (recorded PPT)
• Step 2: Complete and submit the application for admission
• Step 3: Participate in interview and complete an assessment task OR
participate in a hearing and complete an assessment task (OAC)
• Step 4: Attend the administrator’s and/or transfer meeting
• Step 5: Attend orientation and enroll
